SUMMARY:Community Orchard t-Budding Workshop - Sat 28th Feb\, 2-4pm
DESCRIPTION:As part of Friends of the Farm’s long-term plan to replicate prolific fruiting trees in our area\, we’re running a new workshop to discover a different way of propagating new plants from old. \nBring with you a cutting or two from the peach\, plum or apricot tree that has been giving you fruit for years in Māngere Bridge. \nRichard will teach us how to take just a bud from that twig and attach it to an existing plant.  Over the next couple of years\, you can watch your fruit grow from a different tree. \nSound interesting?  Come along and join us for this free workshop. \nAfternoon tea and home baked goodies will be available at the end to celebrate a successful session. \nThe orchard is located behind 82 Wallace Road\, Mangere Bridge. Look for the FoF flag

SUMMARY:Māngere Bridge Community Orchard Working Bee
DESCRIPTION:Interested in joining a keen local bunch of gardening enthusiasts?  Come and join Friends of the Farm’s next orchard working bee on the first Saturday of every month from 2-4pm. \nThis forms part of our plan towards helping Māngere Bridge to become more food resilient; feeding our community well into the future from plants which have proven over time to grow well in our place. The reduction in waste from packaging and carbon emissions from air miles\, when you just have to walk down the road for a feed\, is an added bonus! \nGood company plus home-made baked goodies and tea/coffee will be your reward.  Look out for the Friends of the Farm flag on the side of the road near 82 Wallace Rd\, Mangere Bridge

DESCRIPTION:If you’re skilled with a needle or want to learn to sew and would like to join some like-minded buddies\, come along to Friends of the Farm‘s next sewing bee in the barn at Ambury Farm. \nWe might be making more of our popular fabric gift bags! \nThere is every chance we will also be making veggie bags (fabric provided) to top up our Tote All Recall bag bins in the library and at St Vincent’s shop in Māngere Bridge to encourage people to take reusable bags when shopping and reduce the waste from single-use plastic or paper bags. \nWe’ll have at least one spare machine if you’d like to do some of your own sewing or would like to learn how to use a machine. \nWe’re friendly and welcoming\, and will provide tea\, coffee and home-made baking.

DESCRIPTION:Friends of the Farm bring you the Māngere Bridge Repair Café 21st March 2026 – our 12th! \nDo you have any small items that need fixing?
