Community Orchard Working Bee – Sat 3rd May 2025, 2-4pm

Interested in joining a keen local bunch of gardening enthusiasts? Come and join Friends of the Farm’s next orchard working bee on Saturday 5th April 2-4pm.
Jobs to do will include digging a trench into which to plant our collected peach pits so that we can grow rootstock onto which to attach our grafted trees as well as general maintenance as we head into winter.
This forms part of our plan towards helping Mangere Bridge to become more food resilient; feeding our community well into the future from plants which have proven over time to grow well in our place. The reduction in waste from packaging and carbon emissions from air miles, when you just have to walk down the road for a feed, is an added bonus!
Good company plus home-made baked goodies and tea/coffee will be your reward. Look out for the Friends of the Farm flag on the side of the road near 82 Wallace Rd, Mangere Bridge
