The Māngere Bridge Library Craft Group has been meeting for two years now and continues to grow and develop. Locals come along to knit, crochet, embroider, do felt work, macrame and chat.
It was so encouraging, despite the forecast 27C heat, to see nearly 15 people working hard to create a place that will shade us and feed us in the future…
Volunteers rolled up their sleeves to care for the orchard, starting with spreading mulch around the thriving blueberry bushes and carefully weeding around the harakeke to keep the area tidy and healthy.
It was a lively day at Ambury Farm’s for the Friends of the Farm Sewing Bee for November, filled with the rhythmic hum of sewing machines and the cheerful buzz of conversation.
Friends of the Farm hosted 3 exciting events in October, all were focused on reducing waste, stretching resources, saving expenses and celebrating community cooperation & environmental care…

Our 2nd Seedling Swap Day was another huge success with all levels of gardener enjoyed learning and sharing…not to mention our inaugural Giant Pumpkin Competition…
22 beanies, 7 jerseys, 6 cardies, 6 Octopus toys, a cot blanket, premmie hat, 4 pairs knitted wool slippers, plus 9 fabric grab bags…
Another lovely day in early August saw around 12 hardy souls enjoying the sunshine and braving the chilly breeze to complete a number of jobs that have been on the waiting list for a while…
And here at Mangere Bridge we are preparing for our 11th Repair Café on 18 October 2025…
