Māngere Bridge Craft Group at Māngere Bridge Library
The Māngere Bridge Craft Group knits and crochets items for personal projects as well as important charities like the Middlemore Foundation.
A colourful pile of 6 blankets and 45 baby hats plus cardigans, knitted slippers, adult sized hats, knitted toys, and some tiny hats and booties for premature babies. Over 10o items in one recent workshop!!
The group meets weekly every Thursday from 2:00-4:pm and monthly every third Saturday from 2:00-3:45 pm, in the Māngere Bridge Library.
The Māngere Bridge Library Craft Group has been meeting for two years now and continues to grow and develop. Locals come along to knit, crochet, embroider, do felt work, macrame and chat.
It was so encouraging, despite the forecast 27C heat, to see nearly 15 people working hard to create a place that will shade us and feed us in the future…
Volunteers rolled up their sleeves to care for the orchard, starting with spreading mulch around the thriving blueberry bushes and carefully weeding around the harakeke to keep the area tidy and healthy.
