It was a lively day at Ambury Farm’s for the Friends of the Farm Sewing Bee for November, filled with the rhythmic hum of sewing machines and the cheerful buzz of conversation.
Needles danced up and down as skilled hands transformed donated fabrics into beautiful, practical creations — a total of nineteen bags in just two hours!
There were vegetable bags, handy carry bags and easy grab-and-go bags, all stitched with care and community spirit. Some will be gifted to the Middlemore Foundation, while others will help restock the Recycle Bin at Māngere Bridge Library.

The session was about more than just sewing – it was about connection, creativity and sustainability. Between the steady stitching came plenty of kōrero, laughter, a shared cuppa, and some delicious home baking.
Once again, our Sewing Bee proved that when community, craftsmanship, and kindness come together, wonderful things happen.
Keep an eye on our Event Calendar for upcoming workshops like this.
