The Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) offers free, friendly, confidential, independent information and advice to anyone.
Run by local volunteers, the CAB helps people know their rights and how to access the services they need.
People seek help with issues related to employment, relationships, immigration, tenancy, financial hardship, education and health.
Volunteers help where they can or refer people on to the right place. For those without computer access or expertise, the volunteers will print forms and help to complete them.
“Our volunteers are trained to help with a diverse range of questions,” says Colin, the Māngere CAB Chairperson. “What keeps us coming back is knowing we can help people in practical ways.”
JP & Free Legal Advice
A Justice of the Peace is available most days, to witness and verify documents. Volunteer lawyers provide free legal advice fortnightly on a Saturday morning. It’s best to make an appointment if you want legal advice.
The CAB at Māngere Town Centre is located next to the library and is open six days a week, from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
To make contact, phone 09 275 6885 or 0800 367 222, or just pop in.
