Hi, my name is Emily. I grew up in Māngere Bridge and attended Waterlea Primary.
I’m a musician and Social Media Manager for a Pacific health organisation. I graduated from university in 2018 with a Bachelor of Com-merce and Bachelor of Music. I’m so proud of graduating, because it was a village effort. My family sacrificed a lot for my siblings and me to have the opportunities we’ve been afforded.
I’ve been lucky to have some amazing experiences, like serving as a World Vision Youth Ambassador in Malawi, and working alongside communities affected by climate change in the Solomon Islands.
I wish people could see more of the amazing things that happen in South Auckland.
We often get negative stories through mainstream media – instead of the incredible success stories, the positive impact and strong leaders, both young and old, who contribute to Aotearoa in a beautiful and inspiring way.
When I’ve got a few hours to spare, I head to the studio to make music!
