Bags full of knitting and crochet,  ready for delivery to the Middlemore Foundation!

The nimble fingers of the Crafty people at the Māngere Bridge Library Craft Group have been busy lately. 53 items all together,  to keep little and big people warm.   14 hats of all sizes from tiny to large, 13 baby jumpers, 2 toddler  cardigans, 13 pairs of booties, 4 pairs of knitted slippers, 6 toys and 1 dinosaur book .

Many of the items were made from donated yarn.  The group is happy to receive donations of any colour and size of yarn- they will always find a way to use it.  They also love the challenge of completing any unfinished items- as in the photo of the 2 hats!

In the pictures are the colourful items packed into ‘Grab and Go’ bags, made from recycled fabric by Friends of the Farm volunteers at their recent Sewing Bee.

Thanks to all those who knit, crochet, or sew and thanks to the generous yarn donors, plus of course Māngere Bridge Library,  for hosting the group and providing a cuppa. The group meets every Thursday from 2-4pm,  and every third Saturday from 2-4pm.   A connected, caring community, working together to help others.
